Day One of MegSos Bimtek ASN 2025: Kusuma Academy Establishes the Foundation of Digital-Era Public Communication
The first day of the Public Communication 5.0 Technical Training (Bimtek) took place at Moola Lamongan with high attendance and strong enthusiasm from participants. Civil servants (ASN) from various Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) across Lamongan arrived on time, demonstrating a solid commitment to taking part in the capacity-building program prepared comprehensively by Kusuma Academy in collaboration with the Lamongan Regency Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo).
The event was officially opened by the Head of Diskominfo Lamongan, Sugeng Widodo, S.Sos., M.M., who emphasized the urgency of enhancing public communication competencies amid rapid technological acceleration and fast-moving information dynamics. Participants paid close attention to the policy directions delivered, particularly regarding the proactive role of ASN in managing accurate, timely, and human-centered public information.
As the organizer, Kusuma Academy ensured that the first-day materials were not only conceptual but also relevant, practical, and easily applicable. The curriculum was structured with a 20% theory and 80% practice approach, enabling participants to directly explore how each concept can be implemented in their respective work environments. This was reflected in the session flow, speaker selection, and interactive delivery methods designed to meet real on-the-ground needs.
The training began with a session titled “The Power of Algorithm: Strategies & Patterns Behind Social Media Content,” presented by a content creator and Lamongan-based influencer. The material explained how social media algorithms work, message distribution strategies, and creative approaches to delivering public information. Participants actively took notes and engaged in discussions, highlighting their interest in applying digital strategies to their daily tasks.
The next session was delivered by Dr. Kurniawan Muhammad, M.IP., Founder of Kusuma Academy, under the topic “Social Media for Public Service.” His presentation offered a comprehensive overview of public service communication standards, institutional message management, and effective digital response governance. Participants welcomed the session enthusiastically due to its strong relevance to the communication challenges faced by public service units across various OPDs. Dr. Kurniawan’s experience in developing public communication strategies further strengthened the practical value of the material presented.
Towards the end of the program, participants joined the session “Project Introduction and Participant Assignment,” facilitated by Zainul Abidin. This session introduced the project framework that will serve as the foundation for the intensive bootcamp activities in Malang. Participants received guidance on project objectives, workflow, and expected outputs, providing them with clarity and motivation to start preparing their initial concepts.

Overall, the first day of the Bimtek ran smoothly, informatively, and effectively. The participants’ strong enthusiasm reflects the growing need to strengthen digital communication capabilities, reinforcing optimism that the following days of the program will deliver even greater value for enhancing public communication across Lamongan Regency.
